In previous years, the University of Arizona School of Theatre, Film, and Television offered the course TAR 432: Theatre Management. The purpose of the course was to teach skills that applied to professional theatre organization and management. It combined curriculum from courses in the Arts Administration minor track and the course TAR 430: Introduction to Stage Management. When the course was cancelled in the fall semester of 2023, students were moved into TAR 430 to receive equivalent credit to complete the arts administration minor. These students expressed that stage management was an extremely niche subject and that it did not focus on what they wanted to learn. When the same situation occurred before the fall semester of 2024, I created and implemented a plan to introduce theatre management topics into the TAR 430 curriculum. Throughout this project, I restructured the TAR 430 course syllabus to include stage and theatre management; created lecture materials, assignments, and quizzes; and taught lectures and lab sessions to a course of eight students.
